Morgan Drexen Holds Holiday Food Drive for Orange County Rescue Mission

With many Americans still struggling to find their footing in the slowly recovering economy, the approaching holidays are a reminder of just how far we have to go. The Orange County Rescue Mission says donations of food and money have plunged to dangerous lows, all while the need for its services has simultaneously and exponentially increased.
Morgan Drexen (http://www.morgandrexen.com) CEO Walter Ledda says his company will lend a helping hand by holding a Holiday Food Drive from November 5-16.

"We are all about helping people in need," said Ledda, whose philanthropic work had benefited various charities in the Orange County community. "One of Morgan Drexen's guiding principles is to support our community and to give back through our charity efforts."

Large donation bins are being placed in the lobby of the company's Costa Mesa headquarters. Morgan Drexen's 340-plus employees, as well as visitors, can drop off non-perishable food products as well as other essential household items such as blankets, socks, toiletries and gift certificates. The Morgan Drexen team will deliver these donations directly to the Orange County Rescue Mission in Tustin.

"Now through Thanksgiving, we'll serve thousands of meals to hungry men, women and children," says Donna Naccachian, Major Gifts Officer for the Orange County Rescue Mission. "In our community, each meal is an opportunity to serve hope. When basic needs are met – food, shelter and clothing – men and women can look past the moment of desp women's coats erate need and see the possibility of real-life change."

Morgan Drexen employees have stepped up before to help those in need. Its ongoing fundraising drive for CHOC Children's has raised more than $18,000. Workers have also raised nearly $3,300 to assist the families of good Samaritans electrocuted while trying to help a car accident victim in Valley Village in August.

Recent statistics indicate as many as 45,000 homeless people currently living in Orange County, with nearly 30,000 of them being children. The Orange County Rescue Mission is funded entirely through donations and grants. To learn more, or to donate, click here.
